Utilities

Gas Emergency/Downed Lines/Power Outage
If you smell natural gas or see downed power lines LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY and call BGE at 1-877-778-7798. For downed power lines, stay away from the area and call BGE at 1-877-778-2222. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Water
Water concerns/leaks are handled via 311 as listed below but if you need to pay your water bill online the self-service portal is here

Trash/Recyling
Trash collection is every Thursday and Recycling is Tuesday Week A (We try to remind neighbors via Facebook and Instagram when it’s our recycling week.)

There is no home compost collection though many neighbors use a subscription collection service. Food scraps can be delivered to a few locations and there are drop off locations at Farmer’s Markets.


City Services

311 is Baltimore’s non-emergency line.
In addition to the hotline and website there is also a mobile app available to receive services. Be sure to write down your confirmation number and if you’d like us to keep up with the service drop us an email and include that number.

Schools


Moravia-Walther has two public schools that are zoned to our area. Garrett Heights is also a Community School and offers services and support to those who are not students or families of those enrolled. Public buses are managed by the state of Maryland and their website can assist you in finding more information. However if you need assistance accessing Mobile Services or Paratransit this brochure contains information. Should you need further assistance, please contact us so we can help!

Alternate Transportation
Northeast Baltimore is endeavoring to be more friendly toward alternate transportation though our area does not currently have bicycle lanes on all major roads, Walther Avenue features safety lanes. The Baltimore Bike Map

Dockless Transportation like rentable scooters and bicycles can also be found in our neighborhood regularly. If you park one please be mindful that the sidewalks must remain clear for all, consider wheelchair users and strollers as well as pedestrians when you leave your bike or scooter.
The DoT currently lists which services are contracted throughout the city as well as how to access lower cost services.
